A Lagrange point is a location in space where the gravitational forces of two large bodies balance the centrifugal force of a smaller object, allowing it to maintain a stable position relative to them. In Japanese, the term is typically expressed using the loanword ラグランジュ点 or the translated phrase ラグランジュポイント.
Referring to any of the five points in the orbital plane of two large bodies where a small object can maintain a stable position.
The most common and standard term in Japanese. Uses the loanword 'Lagrange' plus the kanji 点 (point).
ジェイムズ・ウェッブ宇宙望遠鏡は、太陽-地球系のラグランジュ点L2に位置している。
The James Webb Space Telescope is located at the L2 Lagrange point of the Sun-Earth system.
A native Japanese term meaning 'libration point'. Rarely used; mostly found in older or highly technical astronomical texts.
秤動点の理論は、三体問題の特殊解として知られている。
The theory of libration points is known as a special solution to the three-body problem.
A direct loan of the English 'Lagrange point'. Less common than ラグランジュ点 but still understood in technical contexts.
ラグランジュポイントは、宇宙探査において重要な場所です。
Lagrange points are important locations in space exploration.
