Used to express that a feeling or situation is so intense that one can hardly do something. Often follows a verb in the て-form or a noun with で, e.g., 嬉しくていられないくらい (so happy I can hardly stay still).
嬉しくていられないくらいだ。
I'm so happy I can hardly contain myself.
痛くていられないくらいだった。
It hurt so much I could barely stay still.
