I wish; if only; it would be nice if

Expresses the speaker's hope or desire, often with a wistful tone. Used at the end of a sentence, frequently with いい or ある.

• もう少すこし時じ間かんがあればいいがな。

  I wish I had a little more time.

• 誰だれか手伝てつだってくれる人ひとがいるといいがな。

  It would be nice if there were someone to help me.

Colloquial sentence-final particle that adds emphasis or emotional force, similar to よ or なあ but with a slightly old-fashioned or dialectal feel.

• そんなこと言いうもんじゃないがな。

  You shouldn't say things like that, you know.

I wonder; maybe; uncertainty particle

Adds a sense of uncertainty or wondering, often following an interrogative word like どこ, なに, or だれ. Similar to かな but with a slightly rougher or more masculine tone.

• あの人ひとはどこへ行いったがな。

  I wonder where that person went.

• これでいいがな。

  I wonder if this is okay.
