Archaic Tosa-ben (Kōchi) sentence-final particle expressing strong emphasis, determination, or assertion. Similar to standard ぞ or ぜ but with a distinct regional flavor. Not used in modern standard Japanese outside of historical or dialectal contexts.

• わしが行いくぜよ。

  I'm going, I tell you! (archaic Tosa dialect)

• 坂さか本もと龍りょう馬まの手て紙がみには「ぜよ」がよく出でてくる。

  The particle ぜよ often appears in Sakamoto Ryōma's letters.

Modern jocular or playful use, often imitating the archaic Tosa dialect for humorous effect, especially in reference to Sakamoto Ryōma or period dramas. Used at the end of sentences to add a mock-samurai or old-fashioned flair.

• 今日きょうはカツオのたたきを食たべるぜよ！

  Today I shall eat seared bonito, I declare! (jocular)

• 彼かれは冗じょう談だんで「まかせとけぜよ」と言いった。

  He jokingly said, 'Leave it to me, I say!'
