Colloquial, self-deprecating exclamation used when one makes a mistake or fails at something. Often said in a lighthearted or frustrated tone.

• あ、へたこいた！また書しょ類るいを間ま違ちがえた。

  Ah, I screwed up! I messed up the documents again.

• テストでへたこいた。全ぜん然ぜんできなかった。

  I failed the test. I couldn't do it at all.
