Archaic polite auxiliary used after the imperfective form of a monosyllabic verb. Indicates respect for the actor and politeness to the listener. Associated with feminine speech in historical contexts.

• 「見みやさんす」は、古ふるい時じ代だいの丁てい寧ねいな言いい方かたで、「ご覧らんになります」といった意い味みです。

  「見やさんす」 is an old polite expression meaning something like 'you look' or 'you see'.

• 江え戸ど時じ代だいの女じょ性せい語ごでは、「言げんいやさんす」のように使つかわれた。

  In the women's language of the Edo period, it was used as in 「言いやさんす」.
