Archaic familiar second-person pronoun used when speaking to equals or inferiors. Not used in modern Japanese; replaced by あなた, 君, お前, etc.

  "You, go there," said a samurai of old.

• 古こ文ぶんで「わごれ」は同どう等とうか目め下したの相あい手てに使つかわれた。

  In classical Japanese, わごれ was used for equals or inferiors.
