A direct loanword from English, used in Japanese to refer to a person's own life story written by themselves. More formal or literary than the native term 自伝 (jiden).

• 彼かれのオートバイオグラフィーはベストセラーになった。

  His autobiography became a bestseller.

  The author wrote an autobiography in his later years.
