noun
A cross with arms bent at right angles, used as a symbol in various cultures. In Japanese, the term is often associated with the Nazi swastika, but the symbol itself (including the left-facing 卍) has a long history in Buddhism and other traditions. The cross-reference 鉤十字 (kagijūji) is a more common Japanese term for the swastika, especially the Nazi version.
