Obsolete term for the number 18. Not used in modern Japanese; the standard word is 十八 (じゅうはち).

• 古こ文ぶん書しょでは「二に九く」と書かいて「にく」と読よませ、十じゅう八はちを表あらわすことがあった。

  In old documents, 二九 was sometimes read as にく and meant eighteen.
