A somewhat literary or formal term for the years one has left to live. Often used in reflective or solemn contexts. Compare 余生 (せいよ), which is more common and neutral for 'the rest of one's life', and 余命 (よめい), which is more clinical and often used in medical contexts for 'remaining life expectancy'.
