Archaic term for a ceremony in which a newly hired servant meets their master for the first time. Not used in modern Japanese.

• 江え戸ど時じ代だいの武ぶ家けでは、新あたらしい奉ほう公こう人にんが初うい参ざんの儀ぎ式しきを行おこなった。

  In samurai households of the Edo period, new servants performed the first-audience ceremony.
