Used specifically for playing stringed instruments such as the koto, shamisen, or guitar. More formal or literary than 弾く (ひく).
彼女は琴を優雅に弾じた。
She gracefully played the koto.
祖父は三味線を弾じるのが趣味だっ
My grandfather's hobby was playing the shamisen.
