better than nothing

Used when something is not ideal but still preferable to having nothing at all. Often appears as ないよりマシ or ないよりまし.

  Even this old computer is better than nothing.

• 給きゅう料りょうは安やすいけど、ないよりましだと思おもう。

  The pay is low, but I think it's better than nothing.
