節よ

space between nodes (on bamboo, etc.)

Archaic term for the internode space of bamboo or similar plants. Not used in modern Japanese; the common word is 節間 (ふしかん) or simply 節 (ふし) for nodes.

• 古ふるい文ぶん献けんでは、竹たけの節ふしと節ふしの間あいだを「よ」と呼よぶことがある。

  In old texts, the space between bamboo nodes is sometimes called よ.
