A somewhat formal or literary term for a musician, especially one who plays in an orchestra or band. In everyday speech, 音楽家 (おんがくか) or ミュージシャン are more common.

  He is active as a musician in an orchestra.

• その楽がく団だんには多おおくの優ゆう秀しゅうな楽がく士しが所しょ属ぞくしている。
