The standard way to say 'download an app'. The store is often implied.

To download this app, open the app store.
Means 'install an app'. Often used interchangeably with ダウンロードする, though technically installation follows download.
アプリをインストールしたら、すぐに使えます。
Once you install the app, you can use it right away.
When the app store is obvious from context, it's often omitted.
In casual conversation, if the platform is clear, you can just say 'download the app' without specifying the store.
