Expresses worry, care, involvement, or relevance. Japanese uses different constructions depending on whether you are worried about something, care about a person or issue, or are involved in a matter.

The most common way to say you are worried about something. 心配 (shinpai) means worry or concern.
彼の健康を心配しています。
I'm concerned about his health.
I'm concerned about the exam results.
Literally 'on one's mind', used for nagging worries or things that bother you. More casual than 心配.
彼の態度が気になる。
I'm concerned about his attitude.
To be bothered or concerned about something, often implying you can't stop thinking about it.
彼は自分の体重を気にしている。
He's concerned about his weight.
To care about a person, issue, or outcome; to be interested in someone's well-being.
To be concerned about someone or something in a caring, attentive way. Often used for people.
彼女はいつも私のことを気にかけてくれる。
She is always concerned about me.
To think of someone/something as important; to care deeply. Stronger emotional nuance.
彼は家族を大事に思っている。
He is concerned about his family (cares deeply for them).
To be involved in or related to a matter; to have a stake in something.
To be related to or involved in something. Neutral, factual.
この問題に関係している人はいますか？
Is anyone concerned with this issue?
To be involved in, often with a nuance of active participation or deep connection.
彼はそのプロジェクトに深く関わっている。
He is deeply concerned with that project.
Literally 'there is a relation'. Used in negative or question forms to say something is not your concern.
それは私には関係ない。
That doesn't concern me.
Used in formal contexts like 'To whom it may concern' or 'the parties concerned'.
Standard formal salutation: 'To whom it may concern' or 'Dear Sir/Madam'.

当事者の意見を聞く必要がある。
We need to hear the opinion of the person concerned.
The English adjective 'concerned' does not have a single Japanese adjective equivalent. Use verb phrases like 心配している or 気にしている depending on the nuance.
彼は心配そうな顔をしていた。
He looked concerned.
