How to express that someone receives or is given something, often formally or as a right.
The subject is given a right, permission, privilege, or formal status.

English 'be granted' often corresponds to passive forms in Japanese, but the choice of verb depends heavily on what is granted. Using a generic '与えられる' for wishes sounds unnatural; use 'かなえられる' instead.

Passive of 認める (to recognize/approve). Implies official recognition or approval of a right or status.
His achievements were recognized and he was granted an award.
Formal, often used in legal or technical contexts for granting rights, licenses, or permissions.
A patent was granted.

Passive of 聞き入れる (to grant a request). Used when a request or petition is accepted.
His request was granted.
Very formal, used when something is granted by an emperor or high authority.
An imperial gift was granted by the Emperor.
