In Japanese, the concept of 'opposing team' is most commonly expressed with 相手チーム (aite chiimu) or 敵チーム (teki chiimu). The choice depends on context: 相手 is neutral and widely used in sports and games, while 敵 carries a stronger sense of rivalry or enmity. In many situations, simply using 相手 (aite, 'opponent') is sufficient when the team context is clear.
