刑務所長 is the modern, standard term. 典獄 is outdated and rarely used outside historical or literary contexts. Using 典獄 in everyday speech would sound archaic.
Avoid directly translating 'warden' as ワーデン or 看守長. 看守長 is a senior guard, not the head of the facility. The head is always 所長 or 刑務所長.
Short for 刑務所長, used when the context is clear. More casual or abbreviated.
