To describe someone or something that is famous all over the world. In Japanese, this is most naturally expressed with the phrase 世界的に有名な (sekaiteki ni yūmei na) or the compound 世界的 (sekaiteki) used attributively. Direct translations like 世界有名 are not standard.

Do not use 世界有名 (sekai yūmei) or 世界的有名 (sekaiteki yūmei) without the particle に. The correct adverbial form is 世界的に有名な. Also, 世界的 (sekaiteki) alone can be used as a na-adjective, but it is less common in casual speech.
