逆 (ぎゃく) and 反対 (はんたい) both mean 'opposite'. 逆 is more common in casual speech and for simple reversals, while 反対 is slightly more formal and often used for opinions or abstract opposition. For direction, both are fine, but 逆方向 is the most natural for 'wrong way'.
