Colloquial slang formed by inverting the syllables of 貧乏 (びんぼう). Used playfully or self-deprecatingly to describe being broke or poor.

• 今こん月げつはもうボンビーで、外がい食しょくできない。

  I'm already broke this month and can't eat out.

• 学がく生せい時じ代だいはずっとボンビーだった。

  I was always poor during my student days.
