yamanba; manba
Refers to a young woman following a late 1990s–early 2000s Japanese street fashion trend characterized by extremely dark artificial tan, bright or white makeup around the eyes and lips, and often bleached or vividly dyed hair. Related to the ganguro style but more extreme. Colloquial term.
I often saw girls in the yamanba style in Shibuya.
Yamanba makeup is characterized by white eyeshadow and dark lipstick.
