Archaic honorific term for mother, used historically by children of court nobles and noble families. Not used in modern Japanese.

There is a scene where a child of the old nobility says, 'Mother, did you call for me?'
Derived from honorific prefix 御 (お) + 母 (mother) + honorific suffix 様 (さま), with archaic reading たあ or たた for 母. The exact historical derivation of the reading is uncertain.
