pronoun
you (archaic, familiar or derogatory)
Archaic second-person pronoun used in a familiar or derogatory manner, similar to 'thou' or 'you' with a condescending tone. Not used in modern Japanese.
「我殿、何をしておる」と侍が言った。
"You, what are you doing?" said the samurai.
Compound of 我 (wa, 'I') and 殿 (dono, honorific suffix), literally 'my lord', but used ironically or familiarly to address someone as 'you'. The exact historical development is uncertain.
