waza-ari (half-point in judo)
In judo, a score awarded for a throw or hold that is not quite an ippon. Two waza-ari equal an ippon and end the match.

技あり二つで合わせ技一本となる。
Two waza-ari combine to make an ippon.
Ippon is a full point that immediately ends the match, while waza-ari is a half-point.
Yūkō was a lower score in older judo rules, now replaced by waza-ari as the only score below ippon.
Compound of 技 (waza, 'technique') and あり (ari, 'exists' or 'there is'), literally 'there is a technique'. The term is specific to judo scoring.
