A family crest used in less formal settings, as opposed to the formal 表紋 (おもてもん). Often simpler in design.

• この着き物ものには裏うら紋もんがついている。

  This kimono has an informal crest on it.

• 裏うら紋もんは表おもて紋もんより簡かん略りゃく化かされていることが多おおい。

  The informal crest is often more simplified than the formal crest.
