Archaic conditional expression equivalent to modern ～でなければ or ～しないならば. Found in classical Japanese and occasionally in modern formal or literary contexts.

• 「あらずんば死しす」という覚かく悟ごで戦たたかった。

  They fought with the resolve of 'if not, then death'.

• 古こ典てんでは「あらずんば」が条じょう件けんを表あらわす表ひょう現げんとしてよく使つかわれる。
