color difference; chrominance component
Technical term used in video engineering and color science. Refers to the color information in a video signal, distinct from luminance, or to a measurable difference between two colors.
The chrominance signal is transmitted separately from the luminance signal.
This display has a small color difference, so accurate color reproduction is possible.
Compound of 色 (color) and 差 (difference). A straightforward technical coinage.
