Similar to 会計, but more traditional and often used in older establishments or by older speakers. Can sound a bit rough.
POS (ピーオーエス) refers specifically to the computer system or software that manages sales, inventory, etc. レジ is the physical cash register or checkout counter. In casual conversation, レジ is often used for both, but in business settings, POS is preferred for the system.
