体育館 is a gymnasium used for sports and assemblies, while 講堂 is an auditorium with a stage, used for ceremonies and lectures. In schools, 体育館 is more common for daily assemblies.
公民館 is a public community center offering various programs, while 集会所 is simply a meeting place, often smaller and managed by a neighborhood association.
