How to express that something is fixed, repaired, or no longer broken in Japanese. The best choice depends on what is being fixed and whether you focus on the result or the action.
To say that something broken is now fixed, often as a result of repair.
Intransitive verb meaning 'to be fixed' or 'to get repaired'. Used for machines, objects, or problems. Focuses on the state change.

時計はもう直っています。

Passive form of 'repair'. More formal and emphasizes that someone repaired it. Used for appliances, cars, etc.
車が修理されました。
The car was repaired.
Same reading as 直る, but used for illnesses, injuries, or personal problems being healed/cured.
風邪が治った。
My cold got better.
To say that something is fastened, attached, or not moving.
Means 'is fixed' in the sense of being secured, fastened, or immobile. Used for physical objects or settings.

More formal, meaning 'is finalized' or 'is confirmed'. Used in business or official contexts.

Both are read なおる. 直る is for objects/machines being fixed; 治る is for illnesses/injuries healing. Using the wrong kanji can cause confusion.
English 'be fixed' is often intransitive (state). Use 直る (intransitive), not 直す (transitive). Saying パソコンが直す is incorrect.
