How to express that something is not yet finished, being built, or temporarily unavailable in Japanese.
To say that something is still being made, built, or prepared and is not ready.
Literally 'under construction'. Used for buildings, roads, and physical construction projects. Often seen on signs.
This building is under construction.
Used for documents, websites, software, or creative works that are still being created.
The website is under construction.
Means 'in preparation'. Suitable when something is being set up or arranged, like an event or a new service.
The new service is under construction (in preparation).
Means 'incomplete' or 'unfinished'. Can be used for projects, artworks, or tasks.
The project is under construction (incomplete).
Specifically for web pages or online content that is not yet available.
To describe a person who is still learning or improving, or a skill that is not yet mastered.
Do not translate 'under construction' word-for-word as 建設の下 (kensetsu no shita). That is unnatural and incorrect.
工事中 is for physical construction. 作成中 is for creating documents, art, or software. 準備中 is for preparing events, services, or setups.
サイトは準備中です。
The site is under construction.
I'm still under construction (inexperienced).
