Used to express that something is characteristic of a person or situation, or that a result is exactly what one would expect given the circumstances. Often follows a noun or clause describing the person or reason.

• 彼かれが一いち番ばんに来くるなんて、それでこそ彼かれだ。

  He's the first to arrive — that's just like him.

• 努ど力りょくしたから成せい功こうした。それでこそ意い味みがある。

  You succeeded because you worked hard. That's exactly why it matters.
