Describes a person who is deeply absorbed in a hobby or pursuit, often to the point of being obsessive or overly meticulous. Similar to 凝り性, but 凝り屋 can sound slightly more colloquial.

• 彼かれは凝こり屋やだから、趣しゅ味みの道どう具ぐにすごくお金かねをかける。

  He's such an enthusiast that he spends a lot of money on his hobby gear.

• あの人ひとは凝こり屋やで、何なんでも完かん璧ぺきにしないと気きが済すまない。

  That person is a perfectionist who can't rest until everything is done perfectly.
