miniature Mt. Fuji mound
A man-made mound, often built by Fuji-kō (富士講) groups, used as a surrogate for climbing the real Mt. Fuji. Common in Edo-period pilgrimage culture.

During the Edo period, Fujizuka mounds were built in many places.
The Fujizuka in this park was made by members of the Fuji-kō group.
Compound of 富士 (Fuji, Mt. Fuji) and 塚 (mound). The reading ふじづか is a standard rendaku form.
