Fuhonsen coin
Historical term for Japan's earliest known coinage, minted around 683 CE. It may never have been widely circulated. Often mentioned alongside 和同開珎 (Wadōkaichin).

The Fuhonsen is considered to be an older coin than the Wadōkaichin.

Named for the characters 富本 cast into the coin, followed by 銭 “coin.”
