Archaic term for a person who slaughters animals or works as a butcher. Not used in modern Japanese; the modern equivalent is 屠殺業者 or 肉屋.

• 古こ文ぶん書しょには「屠と児じ」という語ごが肉にくを扱あつかう者ものを指さして使つかわれている。

  In old documents, the word 屠児 is used to refer to someone who handles meat.
