endgame position (shogi)
A technical shogi term referring to a position in the endgame where the outcome is largely determined and both players are maneuvering for the final checkmate or decisive advantage.
In this endgame position, the first player has the advantage.
Professional game records often include endgame positions.
A shogi term formed from 指了, the completion of play or of a specified sequence of moves, and 図, a diagrammed position.
