Archaic pre-noun adjectival form meaning 'that is ending' or 'that is dying out'. Used only before nouns, often in poetic or classical writing. The modern equivalent is 果てる (はてる).
果つる命の儚さを詠んだ歌。
A poem that sings of the transience of a life that is coming to an end.
古典文学では「果つる」は「終わりゆく」という意味で使われる。
In classical literature, 果つる is used to mean 'that is gradually ending'.
