A somewhat formal or literary expression used to state a conclusion after considering everything. Often interchangeable with 結局 or 要するに, but carries a more classical tone.

• 色いろ々いろと努ど力りょくしたが、畢ひっ竟きょうするに成せい功こうしなかった。

  I tried various things, but in the end I didn't succeed.

• 彼かれの主しゅ張ちょうは、畢ひっ竟きょうするに自じ己こ中ちゅう心しん的てきなものだった。
