scout hidden in the fields (Sengoku period)
Archaic term for a scout who hid in fields or grass to observe enemy movements during the Sengoku period. Not used in modern Japanese outside historical contexts.
During the Sengoku period, scouts called shibami gathered intelligence on the enemy.
