pronoun
Archaic polite second-person pronoun, originally used to address superiors. Now obsolete; modern usage is exclusively derogatory.
古文書では「貴様」が敬称として使われている。
In old documents, 貴様 is used as a respectful form of address.
お前 is also a blunt second-person pronoun but can be used among close friends or in a rough but not necessarily hostile way. 貴様 is always hostile and insulting.
てめえ is similarly vulgar and confrontational, often used in rough speech or fights. 貴様 carries a slightly more old-fashioned or dramatic tone.
Originally a polite term combining 貴 (noble) and 様 (honorific suffix). Over time, its usage shifted to become a derogatory and confrontational pronoun.
