lime stick; birdlime pole
A traditional pole coated with birdlime (黐) used to catch insects, especially dragonflies and cicadas. The word is culturally specific and not an everyday item.
In summer, children would take a lime stick and go catch dragonflies.
In the old days, we often caught cicadas with a lime stick.
