Quercus gilva; a species of oak
A species of evergreen oak native to Japan and East Asia. Botanical term; in everyday contexts, it may simply be referred to as a type of かし (oak).

I picked up acorns from a Quercus gilva planted in the park.
Kanji spelling with 樫 (oak) is possible but rarely used; the word is usually written in kana.
The name イチイガシ likely derives from 一位 (いちい, Japanese yew) + 樫 (かし, oak), possibly because the wood or leaves resemble those of the yew. The exact origin is uncertain.
