Used with a negative verb to express that there is very little of something, or that something is hardly the case.

• 冷れい蔵ぞう庫こには野や菜さいがちょっとしかない。

  There are only a few vegetables in the fridge.

• 彼かれは日本にほん語ごをちょっとしか話はなせない。

  He can only speak a little Japanese.
