A typographic symbol used in hiragana text to indicate that the previous hiragana character is repeated. Rare in modern standard writing but may appear in older texts, calligraphy, or stylistic contexts.

• 昔むかしの本ほんでは「かゝし」のようにゝが使つかわれている。

  In old books, ゝ is used as in 'かゝし' (kakashi).

• ゝはひらがなの繰くり返かえし記き号ごうで、今いまはほとんど使つかわれない。
