Charpy impact test
A standardized materials test measuring the energy absorbed by a material during fracture, commonly used in engineering and metallurgy.
The toughness of the material is evaluated by the Charpy impact test.
From the name of French engineer Georges Charpy, who developed the test in the early 20th century.
